Style updates 2.1 Style Updates

Hello everyone, we're pushing our 2.1 updates out today. Once you receive the email you'll be able to download it immediately with an active license via your purchase area.

Even though we've kept the changes to a minimum I consider this is a major style release primarily focusing on bug fixes and overall improvements. The primary focus for this update was to bring the styles up-to-date with 2.1 and how 2.1 approaches certain things. Color properties such as headings/buttons are now pulling from the new "Basic color" options. A full change-log can be found at the bottom of this post. You must upgrade your forum to at least 2.1 Beta 2 to install this style update.

Before Upgrading
As always backup your current styles before importing the new version. Backing up is simply exporting your current styles before upgrading. Check out our documentation on how to backup your style if you have further questions.

actually i had a messed up footer but it was all settings ... only the font icon is not showing for now thanks

Hey @Russ, what happened to the "Account tabs" option where you could:
  • hide the text
  • hide icons
  • default
Where it doesn't show username or alerts or search as text in the header? It eats up so much room. Did that get moved or is it gone? I can tweak it with CSS if needed but I figured I'd ask.

And my god do I hate this new Font Awesome 5. I know that has nothing to do with you, I just had to say it.

EDIT: While I'm at it, Can I easily change the "Change Width" text back to the icon that was being used? I'm trying to maintain the site design exactly as it was.

XF changed the way the text over there functions so we removed the option. To add text in you need to edit the phrases like nav.inbox and nav.alerts

To hide the account name and search text:

Code:
span.p-navgroup-linkText {
    display: none;
}
Place that in extra.less

Also, check out typography, you can change the style of Font Awesome back to solid if you like that look better, actually 3 different styles total.

Thanks @Russ. I do like the Solid better but the problem is it's font-weight: 900. If I try to slim it down it just converts to regular or thin. Know any way around that or is it a symptom of Font Awesome 5?

By the way, on Flat Awesome+, the Change Width Icon doesn't appear. It's set to be fa-sliders, but Flat Awesome 5 doesn't have that anymore. They have fa-sliders-h and fa-sliders-v for horizontal and vertical.

My apologies concerning this. Looks like I had a template merging / reverting issue. You did have it right, I just goofed up on the staging version of the forum.

With awesome pro the approach it this way, take a look at: https://fontawesome.com/icons
On the left side, Solid/Regular/Light/Brands, they use different font weight/families essentially to achieve the various looks.

Safe to upgrade, you'll have 4 outdated templates which I'll be sending out updates for shortly.

They were all minor template edits, just safely ignore the outdated templates message until you upgrade.
