2.3 Style Progess

Hello,

Just wanted to check in with everyone regarding 2.3 style updates. If you haven't seen, XenForo released 2.3 Beta is available for download. We're currently working on getting the styles updated and will release them in the near-future. The updates just about done, but we'd like to see a few crucial style-related bugs fixed before we support 2.3 styles. All current styles will be updated to 2.3.

This will be a larger update and will require you to do proper testing beforehand. This time around, we'll be providing a one-off service to upgrade your style for you (more details and pricing to come later). The biggest change will be how we ship styles out. Previously, when a style had a light and a dark version, we'd ship multiple versions(Light/Dark/Dark as a child). These dark versions will no longer exist and you'll use the single parent style that will have a light/dark mode included. The path to upgrade to this should be straightforward, assuming you've placed all of your edits into a child style. The biggest benefit to this is you'll no longer need to maintain two different styles.

Lastly, we're exciting to release new styles again! We'll have more details on these soon, but they will come after all current styles are updated and stable.

Thank you everyone for your continued support over the years!

I can’t wait, currently my theme is the only thing holding me back hopping on the Beta bandwagon.

Normally we'd have them out by now, but when:

Beta 1 wouldn't allow for merging templates
Beta 2 wouldn't allow for always saving templates or proper exporting/import of styles....

It's not really something we can release on :D

Hopefully they get that stuff fixed in Beta 3.

Still waiting :).

These both leave it practically impossible to release anything at the moment. Here's hoping for beta 4/5!

The problems seem to be solved :)

This is why I shouldn't do dates :D, woke up super sick on Wednesday and am finally recovering. Working on finalizing them and the documentation for it.

Any anyone with a valid license wants to submit a ticket, I don't mind sharing these as a BETA release of course. It also helps me collect feedback from a smaller group of folks.

This update potentially can be a little frustrating depending on how complex your edits are.

I am eager to test it but not in a rush. If you need feedback I am okay testing things out.

Getting better is more important then an update for software that isn't even final.

You always come through for us with a first class theme service - no rush, RC1 has just been released, so I expect a few more RC's will follow; you know your onions and know better than anyone when the time is right to release the updates. Looking forward to seeing what you have for us, along with some new themes :)
