I''m considering purchasing the apex light theme. but there are some concerns. i notice it is on a beta stage. when is it going to be put on par with xenforo 1.4?

can i would be able to turn font awesome forum nodes on and off at will?
what about font awesome in the postbit and messaage area?
i have other questions to ask but i forgot. will have to write them down.

Beta version is compatible with 1.4.
Yes you can turn on and off fontawesome node icons along with fontawesome in postbit.

Apex is updated to the latest XenBase version and is out of the beta version.

And yes you can set a different icon per various, we do it here on Pixel Exit.
