Page title on forum list

I have used the Page title on forum list option but need a way of removing the New Posts & Post Thread buttons as well as I have started styling that area. I only want to remove it on the forum list. Is that possible?

To style the title area I have added it to extra.less as I couldn't find a style property for that area or have I missed it?

    display: none;

Which style property controls the border around the thread list, I want to add the same drop shadow I've used elsewhere around the list.
