PNG or SVG

So I have ALWAYS used a PNG for my icon. Recently I saw online where many were stating that an SVG file was much better. Stating that it allowed for a logo to be perfect. Well I have both Photoshop (which I used to create my logo) and Illustrator. Is there a way to convert my existing PNG to an SVG file without losing quality? I tried last night and it just did not workout lol. It still looked jagged in some parts. Or is an SVG not even worth it?

If you provide a 2x version of a logo (as per the options in Style properties -> Basic options) that should suffice.

Depending on the complexity of your logo, it's not necessarily an easy click of the button to convert it. Usually has to be built like that from the start.
