Some members don't have the style variation button and are stuck on light mode.

This one is really odd because some members have the button to switch between light and dark mode in the nav bar and the footer. Other users don't.

We can't seem to figure out what causes some members to see it and what causes others not to see it. Appears completely random.

I logged into my other test accounts and on one occasion I couldn't see it either until i refreshed and then it was there.

Secondary question, can we default to the dark mode instead of the light mode?

Do they see the chooser in the footer next to the "Change width"?

I realized that I don't have the switcher in the header in a suitable spot, only logged-in users who are not "rejected/disabled" can see it. Logged out users can't see it. I'll fix this for the next release. That doesn't really help your situation as it sounds like certain logged in members can't see it. (let me know about the question above).


At the moment, your only option is to technically go back to the old method and run a second style (dark) then set that to the default version. Someone might come out with a plugin to make the "alternate" or "dark" version default but it doesn't exist yet. You could download the dark child version of Bolt and import that under your style. (not ideal).

I'll reach out to a plugin developer to see if the default dark would easily be possible.
