Unique ID rather than Nickname

    I think it would be safe, because what if there is like 2 "DeadIntermediate" because some one wants to be a troll.

    In the database yea I agree, rather then tracking a username.

    As for user interface, probably not a good idea.

    I would hope that it only uses the username for the initial setup where it grabs the uid, from then on in it relies on the uid. Just using the username alone is a very bad idea.

    I think an option to either require a username or the unique id in the admin area would be better.
    Giving the site admin the choice of which proof of id is required.

    Moving this to closed. From version 1.1.0, users will be required to punch in their UUIDs (there'll be instructions). This will result in a less problematic way of syncing. In future, I may explore other methods of syncing but this is how it'll be moving forward.
