Updated to latest version, what about child theme?

The documentation says updates would automatically be passed down the child but it totally broke mine so what to do?

I like the new parent but if I have to make a new child I have to change so many things to get it a bit back like I had it with icons, font awesome stuff etc.

Which version were you upgrading from? Depending on your setup you may just need to fix the outdated templates. If you were on 2.0.X and upgraded to 2.1, XF did major changes with the icons and other various bits.
