How to make dark mode work on my nova style?

I use a custom NOVA style on my site and even though there are some details I still need to addressed, the general outcome is nice. Its basically the custom style you created for me long ago.

I'm having some difficulty with looking at bright screens, so I'm switching to dark mode for all sites I use. I now understand the requests from some of my members much better. So I want to activate dark mode on my site.
But if I activate dark mode, the outcome is horrible. Apparently I botched it up technically.
I don't know where to begin on making it work. I would be happy if the outcome color scheme would be close to the default xenforo style in dark mode.

Do you have any tips on how to address this?

Nova has dark mode already configured. If you go to: Style properties -> Color palette, and then also Basic color the right hand column contains all of the dark properties. You might just need to copy some of the values from the parent style to your child style (JUST the dark version). SOmetimes if you edit your colors, then activate dark mode later it will use your custom color versus the parents dark color).
