1.5.9 Style Updates

Hello everyone, we're pushing our 1.5.9 updates out today. Once you receive the email you'll be able to download it immediately with an active license via your licenses area.

YOU MUST BE ON XENFORO 1.5.9 PRIOR TO UPGRADING/INSTALLING THIS

This is considered a rather large update, I would personally recommend installing it as a brand new style. This is just to make sure you're up and running correctly prior to going live. To do so simply export your current child style of your purchased style. Next import the brand new XenBase (1.5.9) as a new style without overwriting anything along with the new purchased style. Finally import your recently exported child style under the new versions.

You will need to upload the new /xenbase/ folder to take advantage of the latest Font Awesome 4.6.3 if you use the local Font Awesome version

I have yet to update my custom style since installing... always bad juju for me and I am just not that good at it. Question is will the Xenforo 1.5.9 require any edits or are we good to go as is ?

First and foremost always export your style to keep a backup.

Make sure you're upgraded to XenForo 1.5.9 first!
Next download the new package (when it goes out) and import it as a brand new style. Export your existing style and import it under the new XenBase install. This way you can test things out to make sure it looks good.

If you ever get stuck we're here to help.

Updates just went out :), you should be able to download them now. This is a rather HUGE update so I strongly suggest to install it as a new style just as a precaution to test it out.

Cheers Russ, i actually never got around to installing FA+ so this will be the 1st install for my forums - just as well it will be a fresh install of the style :D

It seems to be that there is no issue after the upgrade
Fine that i´ve changed from UI.X :ROFLMAO:

Thanks guys, :) both Blackend Pro and Detour updated without issues. (y)(y)(y)(y)

(y)

will try and upgrade tomorrow hopefully nothing breaks.

Just follow my advice, export your current style, install this 1.5.9 as a brand new style and import your style under the new one to install and test

This update focused on a lot of small improvements which will help just customize things easier in the end. Little things... previously to left/center align the username + title you had to visit 2 areas. The quick search icon in mobile was hard coded with the value we set, I added some calculations to adjust automatically to the sub-navigation height. The "NEW" post indicator bugged me previously because if you made an adjustment to the layout it could show as out of place, I've adjusted it now so it's in the same position on every layout no matter how you change it really.

A ton of other cleanup :)

For this 1.5.9 Style you need to be on XF 1.5.9. I personally have never had a reason NOT to upgrade XenForo, it always brings bug fixes and improvements. Upgrading XF is easy so I look forward to it :D

Complete Greek to me Russ... which is why I never upgrade. I am more likely to screw it up. Thanks for all the hard work though.

Okay... Quick question - probably a stupid one - but whatever... As for upgrading - Please correct me if the steps below are incorrect:
  1. Install Xenbase 1.5.9 as a new theme
  2. Import Adara as child theme
  3. Import the customized/exported theme as child of Adara
I just want to make sure the steps are correct.
Thanks! Great update by the way. Much appreciation.

J.

Yes, this is just an added step to make sure the upgrade works fine on your style prior to going live. Once you've tested it you can either:

  • Import and overwrite your old XenBase + Adara
  • Or just remove the old installs leaving just the new

I normally don't suggest to do it like this but the change-log on this update was pretty darn huge with some fundamental changes in places that could of caused some issues.

I haven't done this update yet. My sites are all on Xenforo 1.5.9, but even without doing this style update, everything seems to be working well. None of the bug fixes mentioned in the changelog above seem to apply to me. Is it okay to hold off on doing this update?

Ya you don't have to update to this one, a lot of what was changed was regarding very specific features in XenBase that needed a proper re-visit :).
