Quick question how can I make the site smaller so that it's hovering and then put alternating background(s).

There are two more problems that I currently have. How can I get rid of the width/long part of the nav bar and how can I fix that logo problem?

Default header and navigation settings increase logo height.

1.Can I change the nodes? If so, where?
2. Is it possible to have the site start at a lower point? For reference:

What would you like to do to the nodes?

What did you set the logo height to?

I would like to change the nodes separately to images or will this require an add on.
I set the logo height to 150px
