I can prob just change the file name in the file manager but I'm not sure if they are utilized for something else.

What is the file directory to find the images?

This will remove the default icon:

As for the directory image, can you clarify? The speech bubble is a Font Awesome icon so it's not necessarily an image but an font technically. The background image with the photographer, are you using an add-on to add that or just CSS?

Well, to be specific about the directory, if you go to Appearance -> Styles -> Click your style name, you can see the path to your style folder. But you don't really need to upload images directly there. You can just use the upload function on each style property; it uploads to the /data/ folder somewhere. If you're manually uploading images, you can really upload them anywhere in your directory.
